EKITI RESIDENT DOCTORS STAGE SIT-IN PROTEST, THREATENS TOTAL SHUT DOWN OF HOSPITAL!!!
The Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Teaching Hospital Ido Ekiti,
Ekiti state has decried the poor state of facilities in the hospital, which
they say has led to increase in mortality rate.
The resident doctors who staged a one day sit at work protest also demand
the refund of what they described as arbitrary deductions of workers salary by
the hospital management.
The federal teaching hospital ido ekiti has been one major health
facility serving the people of ekiti state and neighboring states. Resident
doctors of the hospital forms bulk of its work force. but this set of health
workers led by their president Ibikunle Augustine are threatening to down
tools. its leadership state reasons like deduction of salaries.
Speaking at a news conference held at the alexander
akinyele doctor’s longe in ido ekiti after the end of an emergency meeting of
the association, the president of the association augstine ibikunle read the
association’s communique with the mother of all being the immediate refund of
january 2017 strike deduction on salaries by the hospital management.
The doctors also call for immediate attention on the poor state of
hospital facilities.
The resident doctors have however threatened to embark on a prolong
strike if there demands are not met in the shortest possible time.
