Easter: Buhari Congratulates Christians, Calls For Peace,Love
President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Christians in Nigeria on this year's easter celebration.
Buhari in his easter message to the Christians, called for the spirit of love, peace and sacrifice as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
The message contained on his Twitter handle @Mbuhari reads:
"I congratulate our Christian brothers and sisters on the celebration of this year’s Easter.
Easter signifies the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, redemption over condemnation, and hope over despair.
The message of Easter is filled with themes of love, faith, sacrifice, hope, victory; as espoused in the teachings and life of Jesus Christ
As we celebrate, I urge all Nigerians to live peacefully with one another, and do their utmost to make Nigeria a beautiful place to live in"
The President, who noted that only in a peaceful atmosphere can there be development, urge every Nigeria to live in peace.
"It is in our collective interest to live in peace, because without peace, no meaningful and sustainable development can take place.
As a people we must rediscover the values of peaceful co-existence, social justice, religious tolerance, dignity of labour, and patriotism"
He urged all to be confident in his administration commitment to making Nigeria a better place.
"I enjoin all Nigerians to keep faith in the determination & ability of this administration to change the Nigerian story for the good of all..
We've worked hard & will continue to work hard to improve security nationwide, sustain the fight against corruption & revitalize the economy"
President Buhari further reassured Nigerians of his administration's resolve to fight insecurity and ensure that peace reign every where in the country.
"We will continue with the fight against terrorism and insurgency; we're determined as never before.
We will sustain the peace in the Niger Delta through engagements with stakeholders. We will fully implement our New Vision for the region.
We will restore peace and stability across Nigeria, as the foundation for economic recovery, growth, and true prosperity.
Once again, I wish you all happy Easter celebrations".
