Ife Crisis: Court Remands suspects As Accelerated Trial Begins In June

Six suspects arrested in connection to the march 8^th communal clash in ile-ife had been araigned before an osun state high court in osogbo.

The arraignment had been stalled twice in the week before it finally came up for mentioning.

Finally, the six accused persons arrested in connection to the march 8^th mayhem in ile ife was arraigned before justice Kudirat Akano in Osogbo.

 14 count charge bordering from murder,conspiracy to commit murder armed robbery, arson and malicious damage were preffered aginst the suspects as the plead not guilty.

Oral application for bail as raised by the defense counsel was however turned down by the court. While the court asked the accused to be remanded in prison custody, justice kudirat Akano on the other hand granted accelerated hearing of the case as fixed for the 14^th,15^th and 16^th of June, 2017

The defence counsel  Muritala Agboola says the bail application turned down is the prepogative of the Judge but vows to apply for bail formally before next Tuesday.
