Ife Crisis: Suspects Arraignment Stalled
The arraignment of the 6 suspects held in connection to the
March 8th communal clash in Ile-Ife suffered a setback today.
The suspects are earlier expected to be arraigned before an
Osun state High court sitting in Osogbo on Tuesday having been moved from the
force headquarters in Abuja.
All seem set for the arraignment with maximum security provided
within the court premises in anticipation of any break down of law and order. The
suspects were brought in an unmarked Toyota Bus also with heavy security.

March 8th communal clash in Ile-Ife suffered a setback today.
The suspects are earlier expected to be arraigned before an

All seem set for the arraignment with maximum security provided
within the court premises in anticipation of any break down of law and order. The
suspects were brought in an unmarked Toyota Bus also with heavy security.
The suspects and all other security apparatus later moved
out of court premises in one swoop without prior notice.
Checks however reveal that the matter is been handled by the
force headquarters which filed the case on Monday at the Osun state high court
registry and the case assigned to a judge that Monday. The judge who the case
is assigned to however has not given his consent to taking up the case or otherwise,
a situation that stalled the arraignment of these six suspects.
It would be recalled that the twenty none suspects were initially
arrested by the police over the March 8 unrest, 15 were later released and with
the police going on to prosecute the remaining six including Oba Ademola
Ademiluyi, The Lawarikan of Apojeland. The arraignment is expected to take
place on Tuesday.
