Burglary: Man Bags 3 Years Jail

An Osogbo Magistrate Court presided over by Chief Magistrate,Mrs. Sodamade Falilat has sentenced a 30 years old man, Adeshina Olajide to 3years imprisonment.


Chief magistrate Sodamade in her ruling on Thursday said the convict is guilty of the four count charge preferred against him and sentenced him to 3years in prison with an option of N25,000 fine.

Olajide was arraigned on 28th of December, 2016 on four count charge for breaking and entering into dwelling house of two corp members to steal some valuable property worth N302,000.

Upon arraignment, the police prosecutor, Mr. Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that " Adesina Olajide on 10th day of November, 2016 at about 12mid-night, at No.9 Mnea Kilani street, Ebunoluwa area Ofatedo, Osogbo did break and entered into dwelling house of one Corp member, Nweze Chibuzo Charles and house of another Corp member, Chidera Austin Uzomaa with intent to commit felony"

"On same day, time and  place did steal the following: Iphone 6 plus valued N195,000, cash sum of N4,000, Nokia 3310 valued N3,000, FCMB ATM card, UBA ATM card, Fidelity bank ATM card and a brown  bag valued N3,000 properties of one Corp member, Nweze Chibwzo"

"Also, on same day, time and place  he (Olajide) stole; Tecno phone valued N15,000, Ophthalmoscope machine valued N80,000, cash sum of N2,000, Stanbic ATM card and Fidelity ATM card properties of a Corp member, Chidera Austin Uzomaa".

Fagboyinbo said the offences committed by Olajide contravene section 411(1) and section 383 of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

Olajide pleaded not guilty to the four count charge preferred against him.

He was later considered on bail on 9th of January, 2017 by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Sodamade Falilat after his counsel, Mrs. Dada Adeyinka made an oral bail application.
