Osun Babes Vs Pelicans: Player-Of-The-Match, Marcus Happy With Win
Osun Babes diminutive winger Marcus Grace has been praised by fans of the club for her wonderful display in the Nigeria Women Premier League game with Pelican Stars of Calabar.
Marcus was named player-of-the-match for her performance in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over the ladies from Calabar at the Osogbo City Stadium.
It was far from a vintage performance from Osun Babes, but goals from Anthony Esther and Edewor Precious was good enough to give the Omoluabi Queens the needed victory.
Speaking to the club's media team afterwards, the former C.O.D Ladies player said: "It was indeed a tough game as our opponent did so well. We are glad we won and played so well to the delight of our fans and the deputy governor who came here to the stadium to support us.
"I just want to do my part for the team. I got lucky today and was presented the player of the match. I think all my team-mates did so well too and all deserve to be named player of the match. It is a team effort and am glad we got the maximum point today.
"We knew it was going to be tough, especially being the first game of the season. But again we dug in, battled out and got something out of the game.
She finally noted: " We are so grateful to everyone that came to support us today, most especially Mrs. Grace Titi Laoye Tomori, who has been a great mother to the team. We now look forward to our next game on wednesday against Confluence Queens in Lokoja. We pray for a favourable result. Marcus Concluded.
