Return Your Loots Or Be Disgraced - Cleric Warns Politicians
Nigeria's current economic hardship has been said to be part of punitive measures from God, even as people hiding stolen monies have been told to return them without before being caught or be disgraced.
Speaking to newsmen in Garage-Olode,ife South local government area of Osun state, a clergy, Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji, said more treasury looters would be disgraced, but added that their punishment would be limited, if they voluntarily return their loot.
He disclosed that the country would come of the current economic hardship, when those in positions of leadership have genuine repentance and return to God, stressing that there would no longer be hiding place for looters because God has intervened in the affairs of the country.
The clergy averred that the country ran into trouble, because those trusted with positions of authority lack divine guidance, adding God is angry with those that mismanaged the nation's resources and would continue to expose them to ridicule until they return commonwealth in their possession.
Oladeji, who is the General Overseer, Christ Apostolic Church, Canaan-Land World-Wide, shortly after he was honoured by Association of Christian Journalists, said beside plans to re-energise the country's economy, there should be special plans to reorientate youthful populace to instil Godliness in them.
"That is why my ministry is bringing youth together for a world conference. We want to make them better people. We will talk to them and pray together. Future rest on their shoulder and we owe them the duty to prepare them. There is no love in this country any more. Because of the hardship in the land, youths are put to all sort of negative use.
"Look at the carnage in Ile Ife, youths suffered biggest loss. Properties and lives were lost. And if you check the biggest losers, they are youths. Majority of those that perpetrated the crises are also youths. We want that to end", Oladeji added.
As part of efforts to reposition the country, the clergy also called on leaders of different religious denominations and groups to fervently seek face of God and take charge of the affairs of the country.
