Anambra; Gov. Obiano Fingered in Assembly Row

Trouble broke out at the Anambra State House of Assembly complex on Thursday as some honourable members hatched their plans to get the speaker Rita Mmaduagwu impeached. 

There has been feelers around about the impending change which has clearly divided the house into pro and anti Mmaduagwu group.

Trouble however started around 5pm when the plan to get the speaker impeached started playing out.  This was however vehemently prevented by the pro-Mmaduagwu group which led the house to a rowdy session.

The House of Assembly members pushed the impeachment process in the grounds of gross incompetence on the side of the speaker.  is on the process to impeach the speaker.

Drama however ensued as Honourable Obinna Emenakha Snatched the legislative mace, in a bid to block the move of the Honourable members who are hell bent in impeaching Mmaduagwu.

In the midst of the rowdy session, The house adjourned the sitting to 11th of April, 2017 on the grounds that the speaker , Rt Hon.Rita Mmaduagwu went away with the legislative Mace, being the symbol of authority and that the deputy speaker , Clark of the house and deputy Clark were not on ground to officiate the house proceeding .

Meanwhile, sources close to matter say the impeachment is been bankrolled by the state governor Willie Obiano.

 The governor, Willie Obiano was cited in the assembly complex , unaccompanied by the usual security aides, perhaps to give a re-adjustment to the botched impeachment plans.

Seeing how events are turning out with much force coming from the Pro Mmaduagwu group,  the governor according to eye witnesses had to retreat quick and that may have explained why the sitting was adjourned so that the plan will be perfected and carried out at a later time.

With the April 11 date of adjournment, declared by some group, and the symbol of the House residing with another group,  the drama at the Anambra State house of assembly may said to be just unfolding.
