Buhari's Health: Presidency Postpones Nigerien President's Visit

More questions are being raised with the conspicuous absence of President Muhammadu Buhari from national engagements over his health status.
The newest pointer is the sudden pull off of the proposed visit of Nigerien president Mahammadu Ousseouf at the last minute.
The visit is slated for friday (today), but got cancelled on Thursday night with a press statement made available by Presidential Spokes person Femi Adeshina. The statement read "The visit of President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger Republic to President Muhammadu Buhari scheduled for Friday, May 5, 2017, has been put forward.
The rescheduling is at the instance of President Issoufou who has another domestic engagement.
All arrangements had been concluded for President Buhari to receive his Nigerien counterpart and his delegation at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa and attend the Jumaat prayers together as well as lunch, before the last-minute postponement.
A new date for the visit will be announced in due course."
While the reason adduced for the cancellation was the personal engagement of the Nigerien president, checks at the presidency however reveal that the fear of President Buhari being in public glare will be too much to be handled since a presidential visit will require coverage by all press corps in the Villa. Buhari's absence in receiving his counterpart too will make speculations become the truth that the president is incapacitated. These and other factors made handlers of the president to cancel the visit.
While the visit may be cancelled, Nigerians now await if President Buhari will pull a surprise appearance at the Jumat service today or will be a repetition of what went down last week Friday.
