Osun West Bye-election: Mudashir Hussein,Ademola Adeleke Screened, As Osun APC insists Adeleke is not a Member
Two aspirants will on Monday be participating in the All progressives Congress primaries election for the Osun west senatorial district Bye election
The bye-election is slated to hold on July 8.
The two aspirants are the state commissioner for Cabinet matters, Senator Mudashir Hussein and the younger brother of the Late senator Isiaka Adeleke whose death created the vacant seat, Otunba Ademola Adeleke.
The two were screened Saturday evening by the APC national screening committee chaired by the speaker Nassarawa state house of assembly, Hon.Sanusi Rikiji, at the state Secretariat, Osogbo.
Hon. Rikiji told journalists at a briefing before the screening exercise that four intending aspirants showed interest in the bye election, including the state commissioner for women and children affairs, Alhaja Latifat Giwa.
However, Only two out of the said four were present at the screening, which was witnessed by officials of the independent national electoral commission INEC.
The two screened aspirants at the end of the screening expressed confidence and optimism that they would be victorious at the primaries election which holds on Monday June 12.
Earlier, the APC state secretary Alhaji Rasak Salinsile told the committee that Otunba Ademola Adeleke is not a registered member of the party in the state, saying only his late elder brother Senator Isiaka Adeleke was, a claim which Otunba Adeleke described as untrue.
He said only Senator Mudashir Hussein who bought his form at the party Secretariat, is known and recognised by the party in the state.
"Otunba Ademola Adeleke is not a member of our party. It was his late elder brother Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke that belonged to our party.
He is not a registered member of the APC in Osun. He never registered officially not in his ward, local government, or at the state level.
He didn't buy his form at the state Secretariat of APC. We only got wind of his ambition from people.
He's not a member of the APC and has no right to buy form let alone contest" Salinsile stated.
