Islam Preaches Politics With Fear of God, Condemns Terrorism - Clerics
If Nigeria must return to its days of prosperity, every citizen involved in politics and politicking must do so with the fear of God.
This is the position of an Islamic cleric, Sheik Yusuf Babatunde also known as 'oko iya eleko' at the tafsir and iftar programme organized by a sociopolitical group 'Tiwa n Tiwa Lo'sun' on Saturday in osogbo, the Osun state capital.
Speaking on the topic " Islam and Politics " Sheik Yusuf said the current situation of Nigeria is the doing of not only the politicians but the entire citizens.
He stated that politics in Nigeria is full of deceits and atrocities which only reflect what is in practice in every home in the country.
While stressing that Islam is in no way against politics, the cleric noted that it must be practiced in accordance with the teachings of Allah, which forbid deceit.
"Islam is not against politics, but it must be practiced In accordance with the teachings of Quran.
What is being practiced in Nigeria today is nothing compared with the Politics practiced by prophet Mohammed.
The situation Nigeria is in today is the doing of not only the politicians but of every citizen of the country"
Sheik Yusuf therefore urged every Nigerian to treat one another fairly, saying politics begins from home and transcends to the larger society.
He insisted that all Nigerians must return to God and begin to do things according to his will, if the country must overcome her numerous challenges
"If Nigeria must be great against, we must all turn to God for way out and begin to practice politics with the fear of Allah".
