JUST IN: FG To Release N350bn For Capital Projects

The Federal Government is set to release first tranche of N350bn funds for capital projects to Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government for implementation of the 2017 budget. 

This was disclosed by the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun during a public presentation of the 2017 budget on Monday, June 19 in Abuja, the nation’s capital. 

According to the finance minister, the release of the first tranche of N350bn funds for capital projects would be made after the budget is uploaded. 

Recall that the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo signed the 2017 appropriation bill of N 7.44 trillion into law on Monday, June 12. Prof. Osinbajo signed the budget inside his conference room in the presence of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari; Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Ministers and other top government officials.
