One of the two aspirants vying for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress APC for the July 8 Osun west senatorial by-election and a younger brother of the late Isiaka Adeleke, Otunba Ademola Adeleke has officially withdrawn his candidature.

Otunba Adeleke in a withdrawal letter addressed to the state chairman of the party, said he can no longer remain in the party and partake in the primary due to what he called " obvious manipulations and interference by god fathers and power brokers that created the cloudy and controversial circumstances that led to the mysterious 're-qualification' of a candidate that was disqualified at two levels of the party's screening process "

He expressed lack of confidence in the primary election saying "it is unacceptable that the party has chosen to conduct its primary election in osogbo, instead if Iwo, the senatorial district headquarters, hereby, exposing the process to potential nullification"

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, has given Ademola Adeleke the nod to contest at its primary election underway in Iwo.

Ademola was cleared by the party leadership is he was presented the clearance certificate which gives him waiver to contest at the PDP's primary few hours after dumping the All Progressives Congress.
