2017 Osun-Osogbo Festival In Pictures

Hundreds of worshippers today converged on Osogbo, the Osun State capital for the annual Osun-Osogbo festival celebration which climaxed today.

A drastic reduction of spectators was witnessed during this year's celebration,but not without the usual funfair and pageant.

The Ataoja of Osogbo,Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, his traditional chiefs and the river goddess worshippers led other devotees in prayer as the Votary maid known as 'Arugba' perform her ritual rites.


While speaking,the Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Culture and tourism, Mrs Taiwo Oluga reiterated the state government committee to promoting cultural heritage in the state

The Osun-Osogbo Grove became UNESCO world Heritage site in 2005 and has since been attracting tourists from within Nigeria and around the globe.
