Breaking :Uhuru Kenyatta Re-elected President of Kenya

 Incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta has been declared winner of the Kenyan presidential election.

Kenyan Electoral Commission chairman Wafula  Chebukati made the announcement after declaring the results of polls on Friday. 

He beats opposition leader Raila Odinga to become the President-elect, for another term of 5 years.

He polled 54. 27%, while Odinga polled 44.74%. 

Odinga had since the collation of results rejected the outcome of the election, claiming "hacking gave Kenyatta huge lead".

Kenyatta in his speech, appreciated his supporters for their commitment through the electioneering time.

He reached out to Odinga and his supporters, saying Kenya needs everyone to work together for its good. 

"Congratulations to all who have won, and those who have lost. I say,  we live to fight another day"

I extend the hand of friendship, I extend the hand of cooperation, the hand of partnership to my worthy competitors, especially, Hon. Raila Odinga and his supporters, knowing full well, that we must all work together to move Kenya forward"

We shall work together, partner together,so that we can build this nation of ours together"

Elections come and go, Kenya remains"  Kenyatta said.
