Police Allegedly Shot One Dead In Osogbo As CP Orders Full Investigation

The Osun Commissioner of Police Olafimihan Adeoye has ordered a full fledged investigation into the death of a man, allegedly shot by a police officer in Osogbo, on Sunday.
This is according to the command public relations officer, Folashade Odoro, who confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with Timenewsng.

According to her,investigations were underway to unraveling the cause of the ugly incident which led to the loss of one live at Oke-baale area of Osogbo.

Residents of Oke-baale had on Sunday morning been thrown into a state of panic,when a policeman allegedly shot a man to death.

The fraca which led to the death of a man identified as Segun Emir according to eyewitnesses started on a football pitch at Gbeja area of Oke-baale early hours of Sunday.

While some witnesses claimed the victim and his suspected gang of  thugs engaged the police in a fight, Others say the police were only defending themselves from  mob action,  before one of them shot the victim on the chest.

He was said to have been rushed to a private hospital in the area, but, was rejected and ordered to be taken to LAUTECH teaching hospital for treatment where he gave the ghost.

Tensions were high in the area for hours, as his guys were  reported to have taken over the street in riot.
