Sallah:Thousands of Muslim throng Eids In Osogbo For prayer

Thousands of Muslims across Osun State today converged on various eid praying grounds to observe the two obligatory rakat commemorating the Eid-el-kabir festival.

In Osogbo,the state capital,chief Iman of Osogboland Sheik Musa Animasahun led hundreds of Muslims in prayer at the Oke baale Eid-praying ground.

Sheikh Animasahun in his sermon enjoined Muslim faithful to not only reflect on the reasons for the celebration, but also Imbibe the spirit of Sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

The Islamic cleric who harped on the significance of keeping promises,called on Nigerian leaders to always keep every promise made to the citizens of the country.

In his message, the Governor of the state  Rauf Aregbesola who was represented by the state commissioner for Justice Basiru Ajibola, said Muslims must live by the lessons learnt from Prophet Ibrahim's life.

The prayer was wrapped up with the slaughtering of ram, which symbolises the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim in place of his son, Ismail.
