Nigeria Needs Restructuring, Its Unity is Negotiable - Doyin Okupe

Former Senior Special Adviser to Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe says restructuring is another way of seeking true Federalism, which should not be mistaken for call

Okupe who noted that elites across all works of life have failed Nigeria as a nation, said only through restructuring can there be solution to the socio-politcal and economic development of the country.

He stated this while speaking with journalists  after attending thebook launch of a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain Bamidele Salam in Osogbo, the Osun State capital Monday.

Okupe said the clamour for restructuring is not about criticism about marginalisation or agitation for secession from some sections of the country but a return to true federalism.

Correspondent, Opeyemi Olawale reports that Okupe maintained that unity of any nation in the world is by negotiation even though it is best for Nigeria to remain an entity with its unity in diversity.

He advocates a unity of purpose which according to him is lacking among Nigerians as a solution to the country challenges.
