2018 Budget :Senate May not pass Bill Soon - Senator Adeola

The  Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content, Senator Solomon Adeola has said the Senate may not pass into law the 2018 Appropriation Bill presented to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari soon. 

Adeola, who is representing  Lagos West at the Upper Legislative Chambers on Wednesday  disclosed that the budget may not be passed until March or April, 2018.

Absolving the Senate of delaying the passage of the proposed 2018 budget, the lawmaker accused Ministries and Departments of refusing to submit documents necessary for passage of the bill.

He spoke while addressing journalists during a function of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ilaro.

According to the lawmaker, unless the Senate was furnished with the necessary documents, fact and figures to work with, the Upper Legislative Chamber could not rubber stamp the 2018 budget.
