Just In: Popular Online Publisher, Daniel Elombah, Brothers Arrested By SARS Operatives

The Publisher of elombah.com and the General Secretary of the Online Publishers Association, OPAN, Daniel Elombah has been arrested by officers attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Nigerian police.

Elombah, the United Kingdom-based attorney, was arrested alongside his brothers from their family house in Edoji-Uruagu Nnewi, Anambra State, Eastern Nigeria in the wee hours of New Year’s day.

Though the reason for Elombah’s arrest has not be ascertained, the SARS officials, however, said they were acting based on “orders from above” before he was whisked away.

Mr Elombah and his brothers have been moved from Anambra to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital as they are being held under duress, his wife tells ALEDEH.

“My husband was arrested in the wee hours of today. He is being held under duress. They told us they were acting based on orders from above”, Mrs Elombah told ALEDEH.
