Rivers' New Year Killing: Amaechi Blames Governor Wike

Minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi has blamed Governor Nyesom Wike for the new year killings in Rivers state.

Amaechi who is the immediate past Governor of Rivers State accused his successor of encouraging thugs and failing to save guard the lives of the people.

He spoke on Tuesday while fielding questions from Journalists after an audience with President Muhammadu Buhari at the state House, Abuja.

The Former Rivers state Governor also disclosed plans by government to commission more coaches to boost rail transportation in the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday, January 4, 2018 commission ten new coaches and two locomotives for the Kaduna - Abuja train service.

The President will also commission Nigeria’s first inland dry port in Kaduna.
