Drama As Angry Customer Slaps First Bank Staff, Destroys Equipments in Akure
For more than thirty minutes on Friday afternoon, the banking hall of the First Bank PLC located at Alagbaka Akure, was turned into a theatre stage and commercial activities were halted.
This followed a drama that ensued when a visibly angry customer stormed the bank premises, pouncing on workers, before laying his hands on some of the working tools in the bank.
The angry customer according to an Eye witness who spoke to Timenewsng under the condition of anonymity, entered the banking hall and went straight to the customer service unit, where he slapped a female staff.
The man dressed in red was reported to have accused the bank of deducting money from his account and demanding that the money be returned, immediately.
Timenewsng reliably gathered other customers who were trying to do transaction at the time all ran to safety, as the visibly angry customer went on yelling and scattering everywhere.
It was also gathered that the security guards attached to the bank could not do anything, but for the intervention of an Army officer who approached to calm him down, before finally alerting the Mobile police officers who came in and pounced on him.
The man was later taken away by the officers.
The Eye witness said "The guy just came into the banking hall, obviously angry. He was screaming and yelling that the bank deducted money from his account. Everyone on the queue all ran away and the bank was locked. Not even the bank securities could stop him.
" He destroyed not less than 5 computer sets"
A soldier man approached him to calm him down, but to no avail. The man later went outside to alert the mobile policemen, who came to take the man. The MOPOL officers overpowered and beat him down"
Efforts to be get the reaction of the branch manager on the development was not successful.
Situation at the bank is now calm.
