Hours after BBC's Documentary, Emzor Suspends distribution of syrup with Codeine
Emzor pharmaceuticals, The pharmaceutical company whose staff is at the centre of the BBC Africa documentary on the abuse of Cough syrup with codeine tagged "Sweet Sweet Codeine" has suspended distribution of the cough syrup.
Just hours after the documentary was aired and it got viral, the company through its twitter handle announced the suspension.
The undercover report carried out by BBC's Ruona Meyer showed the palpable state which the usage of cough syrups laced with codeine have destroyed so many youths in the country.
BBC's documentary is coming after many other reports from other broadcast stations in the country pointing out the danger inherent in the abuse of various cough syrups with substantial amount of codeine.
