Osun 2018: "Fatai Diekola Is An Expired Political Contractor"-SRJ

The All Progressives Congress in Osun state may be warming up to welcome another entrant into the fold of governorship hopefuls.

The state Attorney General and  commissioner for justice , Dr Ajibola Bashiru at the state meeting of a pressure group within the party known as Osun Progressive Forum in Osogbo asked him to throw his hat into the ring.

Members of OPF across the 31 local government areas of the state converged on Osogbo for its meeting but the contingents from Osogbo and Olorunda local governments siezed the opportunity to ask Ajibola Bashiru to contest.

Fielding answers to questions from journalists, the commissioner for Local government affairs Kolapo Alimi said the meeting is pertinent in order to galvanise the party faithful against the forthcoming party primary and the September 22 governorship election.

Responding, Ajibola Bashiru said the clamour for him to join the governorship race may not be a wish that will be granted adding that his interest is to see to the victory of APC at the polls.

"As I always call myself, I am Mr " follow follow", I will only do what the party and my principal Governor Rauf Aregbesola says. If it is the party's decision to make an handkerchief as our flag bearer ,I am ready to follow"

Members of the forum from Osogbo and Olohunda local governments reiterated the importance of Osogbo as the biggest voter concentration area in the state. While canvassing for governorship seat to be ceded to Osogbo, the forum asked leadership of the party not to toil with the votes coming from Osogbo.

Allaying their fears, Ajibola Bashiru vowed to do everything possible to make Osogbo a strong base for the All Progressives Congress describing those who decamped from APC to PDP in Osogbo especially Fatai Diekola as people with no political value.

"You see, you journalists went to the southwest rally of the PDP and and saw our own when we did just federal constituency rally,  Fatai Diekola does not have any political weight in Osogbo, he is an expired political contractor"  SRJ concluded
