OsunDecides: Adeleke absent as Oyetola,Akinbade,Omisore,Adeoti Grace BBC Gubernatorial Debate
The Yoruba service of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) held it's first ever Governorship debate in Yoruba language.
The debate which was held at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium of the Osun state University, Osogbo campus had in attendance four gubernatorial candidates of the APC Alh. Gboyega Oyetola, SDP Sen. Iyiola Omisore, ADP Alh. Moshood Adeoti, and ADC Alh. Fatai Akinbade while Senator Adeleke, the PDP candidate was absent without any representative.
Oyetola promises to continue the good legacy of Governor Aregbesola in all sector and promised to pay the debt within the highlighted period. He also promises not to owe workers salaries once elected.
Akinbade promises to rule with Accountability, Transparency and Due process in all ramifications. He promises to clear the debt of Osun within 6-12 months. Akinbade states that during his tenure as the SSG, Osun borrowed 2billion to construct the Osun State University for all the six campuses which was refunded within few months.
Adeoti opines that the declination of the teachers to work at the rural areas of Osun contributes to the low performances of Osun students in Waec and Neco. He promised to ensures the improvement of workers welfare so as to be comfortable and willing to work in the rural areas. He also lamented on the situation of Iwo-Osogbo road and promised to see to it once elected.
Omisore on his own part promised to run the government with policies together with the people of the state as well as active participation of youths. He promised to restore Osun education to its former glory and in line with the secondary education system in Nigeria.
