Uniosun VC Vows To Fight Corruption To An End


Following the incessant crisis rocking the osun state university, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Labode Popoola says, the lingering crisis between the school management and some staff unions of the university is as a result of his Zero tolerance to corruption and misconduct.

Prof. Popoola was reacting at a press conference in Osogbo, to some allegations of misappropriation and embezzlement levied against him by some union leaders of the institution.

It will be recalled that Osun state university and it’s union leaders have always been at loggerheads since its inception

 

According to Prof .Popoola, the crisis engaged by some union leaders resulted to having 5 vice Chancellors in a span of eleven years.

Most recent was the disruption of the grand finale of 2018 convocation activities where the school entrance was shut down by the staff unions, preventing visitors from gaining entrance.

Prof. Labo Popoola said, the challenges facing his administration is due to his resolve and steadfastness in blocking leakages of revenue in the university.

He vowed that against all odds, the school management will not condone, indiscipline, recklessness, misconduct or any act against the laid down rule of the university.

Reacting to the stopping of check off dues for the unions, the vice chancellor said he cannot afford to arm his enemy to get stronger.

In spite of the continued crisis between the unions and the management, Prof. Popoola said the university is still marching to greatness.
