UNIOSUN: Court Sentences 3 killers Of Uniosun Student To Death

An Osun State High Court on Monday sentenced 3 killers of a 400- level student of Microbiology at the Osun State University, Oluwafemi Timileyin Sonibare, to death for murder.

The convicts include: Abdulrofiu Sakariyahu (19), Yusuf Kareem (18), Ayuba Ibrahim (20).
It would be recalles that five persons were charged with the murder of Timileyin to include, Abdulrofiu Sakariyahu (19), Yusuf Kareem (18), Ayuba Ibrahim (20), Isiaq Yusuf (40) and Abdulkareen Adeoti (50) .
Isiaq Yusuf, 40, was earlier discharged and acquitted after the judgement was read by the presiding Judge while Abdulkareem Adeoti, 50, bagged 2-year imprisonment.
Justice Kadijat Akano who delivered the judgement found the other 3 convicts guilty of murder, conspiracy and misconducts.
Akano said the prosecution have proven his case beyond reasonable doubt, adding that the judgement would served as lesson to others who indulge in such Criminal and Hilarious acts.
The judgement was premised on the murder, improper interference with the parts and offer indignity to the death of late Oluwafemi Timileyin Sonibare.
The convicts committed the offense on June 26,207 ,at about 10:00pm,at Oke-Baale area, Osogbo.
The Prosecutor, former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun, Dr. Basiru Ajibola told the court that the offense contravened sections 516, 319, 242 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume 11.laws of Osun , 2002 and punishable under same.
The Defense Counsel, Mr Kazeem Badmus, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy in sentencing the convicts.
