Gowon Sues For Peace In Nigeria

Former head of state, General Yaqub Gowon has said that it will take active contributions of all Nigerians, regardless of status or ethnic group, to curtail the bane of insecurity in the nation. 

General Yaqub Gowon disclosed this in Osun state when he paid a Courtsey visit to the state governor under the auspices of Nigeria Prays Movement.

The former head of state said Nigeria Prays Movement is a faith-based movement in pursuit of national political stability and peaceful co-existence of all citizens .

He implored Nigerians to promote ideologies capable of promoting peaceful social co-existence.

Yaqub Gowon expressed optimism that the ongoing security measures by the federal government will profer solutions to the prevalent security challenges.

Speaking, governor Oyetola Gboyega lauded the former head of state for his commitment to unity of the nation and consistency in supporting any government in power.

Oyetola expressed confidence that prayer motive by the former military ruler is inevitable in the affairs of any people-oriented administration.
