Police To Recruit 300,000 Personnel-DIG Adebanjo

Folusho Adebanjo, Deputy Inspector General Of Police In Charge of Southwest 
If the proposal of the leadership of the Nigerian Police Force scales through with the nod of President Muhammadu Buhari, the force says it's ready to recruit at much as three hundred thousand personnel in meeting the United Nations standard of the required number of Nation's police force.

This was made known by the Deputy Inspector General of police in charge of the south west geopolitical zone,  DIG Folorunsho Adebanjo while meeting cross section of stakeholders in Osogbo, Osun  state capital.

Adebanjo said the visit is anchored on the order of the Inspector General of Police made to DIGs to move to their respective geopolitical formations and meet with stakeholders.

Welcoming the DIG, the deputy Commissioner of police in Osun state DCP Aminu Koji reels out various achievements of the state command and its limitations.

DIG  Adebanjo while responding gave Kudos to the Osun state command in terms of proffesionalism, specifically  commending the rank and file of the command for their steadfastness and perseverance. Adebanjo highlighted the succours coming the way of officers and the rank and file. Some of those succours is the deployment of additional men to the command as well as recruitment of new tranche of men as soon as its been approved by the presidency.

In his words, Adebanjo disclosed that the force headquarters is partnering with reputable developers in  floating the Police housing scheme. He also assured the police command that promotion will be done in earnest as much as there will be improvement in the medical and insurance benefit scheme.


Harping on professionalism and conduct, DIG Adebanjo advised officers and men of the command against violation of fundamental human right.

The visiting DIG and the host command were unanimous in commending journalists in Osun state for a the smooth and professional relationship maintained between the fourth estate of the realm and the police.  The meeting was graced by Heads of other sister agencies.
