Its Turn Around In Ondo State; Akeredolu Vows As He Signs 2017 Budget Into Law
Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi
Akeredolu has frowned at the design of Appropriation bills in the state and the
nation in general in which the recurrent expenditure far exceeds the capital
expenditure, stressing that the trend will be reversed in the state.
Akeredolu stated this while speaking
at the occasion of signing of this year’s Appropriation bill into law at the
Cocoa conference hall of the Governor's office in Akure, the state capital.
The governor said his administration
has initiated special intervention programmes in agriculture, job creation,
infrastructure, education, technology as well as rural development.
He stressed that the people of the
state in the informal sector must also feel the positive impact of government.
Speaking earlier, the Speaker of the
State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyeloogun informed the gathering that the
total amount of the allocation was increased by over a billion naira for
funding of tertiary educational institutions in the state.
