DSS Officials On The Loose In Osun, Beat Up ChannelsTV Camera Man, Destroy Equipment



Officials of the  Departmemt of Stste Security Service (DSS) attached to the  convoy of the Osun State Deputy Governor, Mrs Grace Titi Laoye Tomori on Monday went berserk as they attacked journalists who were on Governor Rauf Aregbesola's entourage as they return from an event.

The DSS officials attached to the office of the  state deputy Governor reportedly  blocked the convoy of the Governor's media team while returning from the commissioning of a bridge at Oke-Ila in Ifedayo Local Government.

One Williams, a DSS personnel attached to the Deputy Governor also threatened to shoot the media practitioners after beating Mr Alabi Adekunle, a senior reporter in governor Aregbesola's team for severally at Oke-Ila and right inside the government house in Osogbo, believing that they are breaking the  government's retinue of convoy and motorcade.

The camera person of Channels Television Mr Adewale was also given the beating of his life, with his clothe torn into shreds and his camera damaged by the DSS officials.

One Williams alongside two of his colleagues who rode in a Land Cruiser Jeep with plate number AR 482 KUJ, a security vehicle of the Deputy Governor led the assault on the journalists as they reportedly beat up the  journalists who were detailed solely to governor Aregbesola and damaged their equipment.

It was reported that the meelee which ensued from the blockade created by the DSS officials led to shouting commotion, leading to beating up of two journalists.

A senior reporter, office of the Governor, Mr Alabi Adekunle (Bubbler) was beaten up alongside ‎Channels Television cameraman simply known as Adewale, whose camera worth N2.5‎million was damaged beyond remedy.
