OSUN STATE HIGH COURT, OSOGBO.
As the Strike embarked upon by the members of the Nigerian Bar Association in Osun state enters its day two today, courtrooms across all the courts in the state have remained shut.

This is just as the NBA, says there is no going back on its decision to boycott courts.

NBA's resolve to shun court, was informed by the upward review of court processes filing fees by the state government, which it described as arbitrary and unprecedented.

TIME NEWS gathered that there were no sittings at the state high and customary courts in Oshogbo when visited, as those who have one case or the other were sighted loitering around the court premises.

Chairman of the NBA, Oshogbo branch, Asafa Sanusi insisted that lawyers will not resume courts, unless the fees are reverted.

"We demand immediate reversal of the proposed upward review of the filing fees to the status quo ante"

He also explained that the association has instructed that no filing should be done pending the time the issue will be resolved.

Sanusi said although government has not commenced negotiation with the association, efforts were underway to resolving the issue.

He said "We have resolved that we'll  allow workers to go in and out, but there will be work. Until the Government and all others concerned acede to our demands for reversal, no legal practitioner should file processes or appear in any court or tribunal in Osun state"
