Dino Melaye's Recall: INEC Releases Timetable For Exercise

The Independent National  Electoral Commission INEC  has released  the timetable and schedule of activities for the recall of Senator  Dino Melaye, representing Kogi west senatorial district in Kogi state.

INEC in a twitter post said the verification exercise will be conducted in all polling units in the constituency on August the 19th and the result of the exercise will also be declared same day.

According  to the timetable,  a stakeholders  meeting will held ahead of the exercise on August the 15th, while names of all verification agents for Senator Melaye and the petitioners must submit their names on the 10 of August to the commission.

INEC had last week acknowledged the receipt of a petition from Melaye's constituents seeking to recall him.

About 52 percent of registered voters in Kogi West senatorial district are believed to have signed the petition.
