Eid-L-Kabir: Ogun ANN Laments Govt's Shortfall In Road Infrastructure

As Muslims across the world mark the 2018 (1439 Hijra) Eid-el-Adha, the Alliance for New Nigeria felicitates with Nigerian, particularly the Muslim faithful, on the celebration of this year Eid. We congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters who are currently in Saudi Arabia performing the rites of the Hajj.

For Muslims all over the world, this celebration is to commemorate the trials and triumph of Prophet (Abraham) Ibrahim. The exemplary virtues of sacrifice, steadfastness, generosity and obedience to Allaah's command and constituted authority typified by Prophet Ibrahim was second to none for Nigerians and the people of Ogun State to graciously emulate.

In his statement, the State Chairman of the party, Mike Adekunle urges Nigerians to eschew all forms of recrimination and imbibe self-sacrifice, forgiveness and other typical virtues that promote national interest and development. He calls on Muslims to pray for safe return of pilgrims from the holy land, said Nigerians should be ambassadors of a united and prosperous country rather than engage in hate and disunity.

In his words, the season presents an opportunity for sober reflection on the need for national unity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians, as guarantee to meaningful development.

Adekunle expresses concern over lopsidedness of road infrastructure by the state government apparently concentrated in only two Local Government areas of Abeokuta at the detriment of other senatorial districts in the state. He stressed that the state government's main achievement over the seven years of administration lies in roads and bridges construction in the urban city of Abeokuta thereby constrict other notable cities and rural areas in the state.

He however, noted that there is need to address the imbalances with collective will of people in the state to effect changes in governance ahead of 2019 elections.
