Osun West By-election: APC, PDP Sure Of Victory, task INEC on transparency



As the July 8 by-election in the Osun west senatorial district approaches, the two major political parties participating in the poll, the Ruling APC and the opposition PDP, say they are confident of Victory.

At the APC mega rally in Ede, Governor Rauf Aregbesola who led others to campaign for the party's candidate senator Mudashiru Hussein, described him as the best candidate and voters to cast their ballots for him.

Aregbesola who declared that the PDP candidate is 'using the death of his elder brother to manipulate the people of his hometown (Ede), described it as unfortunate.

He said since the demise of late Isiaka Adeleke, many lies and fabrication have emanated from his family and few of his loyalists.

Among the lies according to him include the claim that the younger brother of the late politician Dr Deji Adeleke borrowed his administration money to pay workers salaries.

The governmnor said it is also unthinkable that the Adeleke's family would claim the he begged him (late Adeleke) to the APC 

At the PDP rally held in Ikire, Apomu and Iwo, the national chairman of the party, senator Ali-Modu Sheriff, said the candidate of his party, Otunba Ademola Adeleke is a man to beat.

Sen. Alimodu has stated that the beginning of the victory of the party has come to Osun State while declaring that the part is now one.

"Today is the commencement of the transformation of the PDP, Osun state PDP are intact today and that also shows that unity has come to the entire state, I want this unity to continue after Adeleke's election am sure my friend Senator Omisore will agree with me".

The two leaders of the two poltical parties while urging voters in the areas forming the district to without fear, troop out on Saturday and vote the candidate of their choice, also  sued for peace before, during and after the by-election.

The parties expressed confidence in INEC to conduct a free, fair and credible polls, and urged the electoral umpire to be transparent in all spheres.

Mudashiru Hussein of the APC and his PDP opponent, Ademola Adeleke are also confident of their chances at the polls.
